MURUGA: THE FRUIT OF WORSHIP

According to Dr. Pillai, worship of Muruga is the culmination of Shiva worship. Shiva is considered to be the supreme Divinity by Shaivism and also the Tamil Siddhas. Further, according to Nadi Palm leaves, the chief Siddha, Agastya, revealed that worship of Muruga gives the fruits of worship of all the five major Gods established by the Einstein of the Vedic Tradition, Adi Shankara, namely Ganesha, Surya, Shakti, Shiva, and Vishnu. And, while Muruga lost the Divine Mango fruit of Wisdom to his brother Ganesha, the famous female Tamil saint, Avvaiyar, revealed that Muruga is the fruit. MURUGA'S GODHOOD EXPLAINED

Muruga is said to have been born from the third eye of Shiva, the supreme God, through immaculate conception. However, while Muruga is the son and an incarnation of Shiva, he is considered to be an upgrade. For example, Shiva has five heads while Muruga has six. Shiva’s moola mantra (foundational sounds) has five syllables, while Muruga’s has six. Perhaps these and more are why Muruga is the Guru of Shiva himself. Muruga, also known by various names such as Kartikeya, Subramanya, and Skanda, is considered to be a form of OM, the personification of ARUL JYOTHI, and the perfect synthesis of masculine and feminine energy, representing both pure consciousness and matter in one form.

One of Muruga’s most prominent features, according to devotees, which explains why he is so loved, is he is very responsive and easy to please. His Six Days, known as Skanda Shasti, is when he is considered most easily accessible by all who reach out to him.

SKANDA SHASTI: RAISE YOUR KUNDALINI

Skanda Shasti, or Six Days of Muruga, is represented in mythology as Muruga’s six days of battle with the negative forces he was created to destroy. The war is said to have culminated on the sixth day with the slaying of the most powerful demon, Surapadma, who became Muruga’s peacock and rooster flag. Esoterically, this time is believed to be when Muruga offers his support to defeat the negative forces within each of the six chakras to enable the Kundalini to rise, culminating in the opening of the Third Eye and realization of one’s Godhood which Muruga personifies.
