Pashupatinathar or Pashupati is the Divine aspect of Shiva hailed as the Lord of All Beings who destroys negative karma that causes struggle in life and blesses with prosperity and success. According to sacred texts, all living beings are called pashus (animals) or embodied souls (jivas) caught in the cycle of birth and death due to their karmic bondage in this life and from the past. Shiva, as Pashupati, destroys pasas (karmic bonds or fetters) such as desires, internal vices, and worldly attachments and liberates from the snare of ignorance and delusion that impedes salvation.
Pillai Center will be invoking this unique form of Shiva in a Grand 5-Priest Pashupatinathar Fire Lab with Pancha Rudram (five hymns in praise of archetype Rudra) Chanting and Powerspot Poojas to receive his blessings, Divine power and protection for gaining strength and confidence to face challenges, removing adverse effects of hostile forces and malefic planets, dissolving sins and bad karma, achieving success in endeavors, and progressing on the path to salvation.
Pashupatinathar is depicted with five faces (each turned towards a different direction) and seated in a meditative position. The five faces represent the five important incarnations of Shiva, and each one is associated with one of the Pancha Bhootas (five fundamental elements of nature).
Sri Rudram is a Vedic hymn written as a prayer to Archetype Rudra (an aspect of Shiva) to help transform his aggressive nature to his peaceful form and shower us with his blessings. This prayer has two parts, with each divided into eleven sections. The first part has verses ending with the term “Nama,” and hence this part is named ‘Namakam’ or ‘Rudram.’ The second part is named ‘Chamakam’ as the verses end with “Cha Me” which means “let this be granted to me.” Pancha Rudram is a collection of five hymns that invoke the benevolence of Rudra to destroy internal and external negativities, fears, sins, and hardships plaguing our life and gain his grace to enjoy material pleasures, good health, happiness, and prosperous life.
According to the sacred text Pashupatinathar Ashtakam (Octet in praise of Pashupatinathar), propitiating this form of Shiva in a Fire Lab as per prescribed procedures can help you gain his grace to overcome all forms of negativities, destroy obstacles and fears, instill positivity and enjoy overall success, good health, happiness, and prosperity in life.
