The Great Goddess Chandi is considered to be an Avatar of the Goddess Durga. According to sacred texts, she represents the supreme omnipotent power of God to destroy negative forces. The Goddess Chandi Fire Lab is considered to be among the most powerful fire rituals that one can experience in this life, and the 10th day of Navaratri the most powerful day to participate. The 10th Day of Navaratri is known as Vijaya Dasami, or the Victorious 10th Moon. It is the day when the Goddess is said to have achieved the final victory over the negative forces.

The revered sacred scripture Devi Mahatmyam, also called Durga Saptashati, is considered to be one of the most important sacred texts in the Goddess tradition. It describes the Goddess as the supreme power of the universe, and Goddess Chandi is the chief deity of the text.

Throughout 700 verses, the scripture recounts the stories of supreme Goddess Chandi slaying demons, which are personifications of the negative forces which cause suffering, ignorance, and death.

It is believed that by reciting the sacred sounds within this sacred text, one can experience the supreme purification power of the Goddess Chandi to solve all problems and fulfill desires in all areas of life, spiritual and material.
