Mahalaya, also known as Pitru Paksha, is a 15-day period that occurs just once in a year. According to the Siddhas, it is when your exalted ancestors known as Pitrus descend into the earthplane to give their blessings to your lineage. Each of the 15 days corresponds to the 15 phases of the waning moon, culminating on the New Moon itself. Each day offers a unique blessing you can receive from your exalted ancestors, and the New Moon is considered to be the most important of them all.
Of all of Dr. Pillai’s teachings, he says ancestor worship is the most important of all, that if you do just one thing, you should perform Tarpanam. Tarpanam is a spiritual solution targeted to help cleanse ancestral karma. Ancestral karma, according to the Siddhas, has the most influence on your life, even more so than the Gods, Goddesses, and Angels. If your ancestors are suffering and unfulfilled, it contributes to your own suffering. Thus, it is important to help liberate your ancestors to free yourself from their negative influence. During these interactive events, we will be guiding you to perform Tarpanam to invoke the blessings of your ancestors. By performing it as a group, the potential impact the ceremony can have will be much higher than performing it on your own.
