According to the Vedas, Vishnu the Preserver Archetype fulfills our needs whenever we face challenges from evil forces. Sacred texts mention that the Tamil month Vaikasi (May-June) is ruled by Madhusudhana, a form of Vishnu known as the destroyer of evil forces and terminator of suffering. As recommended by Dr. Pillai, Pillai Center will conduct special ceremonies for Madhusudhana, including 3-Priest Madhusudhana Homa (Fire Lab for Relief from Sins and Suffering) along with chanting the sacred hymn Madhusudhana Stotram (Hymn of Praise to Vishnu as Madhusudhana) and special Pooja to Madhusudhana at his sacred Powerspot.
Madhusudhana is sixth among the twelve secondary forms of Vishnu. Scriptures praise his beauty for glowing like a red lotus, and he is portrayed as light pink in color with four hands, each hand holding a Shankh (Conch), Padma (Lotus), Gada (Mace), and Chakra (Discus). His flag bears a majestic tall palm tree and a plow. Madhusudhana is the 73rd name of Vishnu found in the sacred Vishnu Sahasranamam (1000 names of Vishnu). The sacred text Srimad Bhagavatam narrates the story of how Vishnu gained the name Madhusudhana after slaying the demons Madhu and Kaitabha for stealing the Vedas from Brahma.
Demons Madhu and Kaitabha performed severe penance to Goddess Lakshmi and obtained a boon from her that only they would decide the time of their death. After obtaining this boon, the demons became tyrants and stole the Vedas from Brahma, who could not defeat them due to their boon. They deposited the Vedas deep inside the waters of Kṣira Sagara, the Cosmic Ocean of Milk.
Brahma pleaded to Vishnu to help retrieve the Vedas, and he did so in the form of the half-human, half-horse avatar, Hayagriva, and returned the Vedas to Brahma. However, Hayagriva could not kill the demons, who continued to torment the world. The archetype of wisdom and intellect Hayagriva then appeared before the demons and asked for a boon. The arrogant demons said they would grant any boon, and Hayagriva asked for their death. Thus, Vishnu killed the demons and came to be known as Madhusudhana.
The sacred Madhusudhana Stotram was composed by Sage Shukha and is dedicated to Vishnu as Madhusudhana. According to the benefits mentioned in the hymn, if a person surrenders to Madhusudhana, he will be rescued from the ocean of sins committed by him in the past and in this lifetime, find relief from hardships, depression and sorrows which are the effects of bad karma, and enjoy good health and attain salvation.
After chanting the hymn in praise of Madhusudhana, three traditional Vishnavite priests, who are specialists in Vishnu worship, will be invoking the blessings of Madhusudhana in a grand Fire Lab. The mantras chanted during the Fire Lab have the power to invoke the protection and wealth archetype Vishnu as Madhusudhana to grant relief from bad karma/sins causing fears, financial and physical suffering, and to boost your overall well-being.
According to the scriptures, performing Fire Lab invoking Madhusudhana and chanting his sacred hymn can bestow the following blessings:
